EchoHer Data System

Black Maternal Voices Matter. Your Story is Data. Your Experience Drives Change.

What is EchoHer?

The EchoHer Data System is a platform designed to bridge the gap between Black maternal experiences and healthcare transformation. Through focus groups, surveys, and lived experience storytelling, we turn real stories into policy-driven solutions and cultural competency training for healthcare providers.

EchoHer Tracks & Analyzes:

  • Black maternal health disparities & barriers to quality care

  • Implicit bias & provider-patient interactions

  • Maternal mental health challenges & access to care

  • Patient experiences in hospitals, clinics, and birthing spaces

We don’t just collect data. We turn it into action.

Why EchoHer Matters?

Black women are 3-4 times more likely to die from pregnancy-related complications than white women. (CDC, 2023)

1 in 3 Black mothers report having their pain dismissed or ignored during pregnancy and childbirth. (Journal of Racial and Ethnic Health Disparities, 2022)

60% of Black maternal deaths are preventable, with better provider awareness and patient-centered care. (Maternal Mortality Review Committees, 2021)

Healthcare providers trained in cultural competency are 40% more likely to recognize and address bias in Black maternal care. (Harvard Public Health Review, 2023)

EchoHer is changing these statistics by making Black maternal voices impossible to ignore.

  • "I was ignored when I told my doctor I was in pain. EchoHer gave me a space to share my story, and now I know I’m not alone. I hope my experience helps improve care for other Black mothers."

    Tanya R.

  • "After losing my sister due to complications that could have been prevented, I wanted to make sure her story wasn’t forgotten. EchoHer is ensuring that voices like hers create real change in maternal healthcare."

    Monique W.

  • "As a Black doula, I’ve seen firsthand how the system fails Black birthing people. The data collected by EchoHer is exactly what’s needed to push for better policies and cultural competency in hospitals."

    Jasmine M.
